Annual holidays
The Annual Holidays Act specifies the minimum length of an employee's
holiday, but collective agreements in certain industries also often include more generous holiday benefits. According to the Act, a new employee is entitled to two days of holiday for every month of employment. This entitlement increases to two and a half days per month when the job has continued for a full year (counted from 1st April). Employees receive normal wages during the holiday, but need not come to work. Many collective agreements also guarantee a special holiday bonus, which is generally
50 % of the wages paid for the employee's
holiday.
